Why I’m Running:

If you asked me a few months ago if I would be running for the Nye County Commission, I would have told you no.

My days are filled with work for a Veteran nonprofit and sitting on both the Regional Planning & Transportation Commissions. I certainly didn’t need to add another term on the commission to my daily duties, but the future of Nye County is at stake.

You see, I served on the commission several years ago.

Much like now, the County was in shambles. Finances were a mess, and we were on fiscal watch with the state. Under my leadership we were able bring our County back to fiscal solvency. Sadly, once again the County is in financial troubles and needs an experienced leader on the board.

As our County continues to grow rapidly, we must welcome businesses here. I will cut the red tape they face and make it easier for businesses, big and small, all while maintaining the rural lifestyle and quality of life, we so love. We need responsible growth, responsible infrastructure, and more business and shopping on the South end.

With all the exciting changes coming to Nye County we also must protect all residents from tax hikes. We can’t let the fiscal irresponsibility that came to the commission after I left, ruin our future. I got us back on track then and I will do it again.

I have never even envisioned myself as a politician and I still do not consider myself one.  I am just a man, meeting the needs of the community I have called home for the last 20 years.
